Water scarcity has become a key constraint for coastal zones, remote islands, offshore projects and field operations. As the seawater desalination industry accelerates toward modularization, lightweight design and intelligent control, conventional large-scale desalination plants are limited by long construction cycles and fixed-site requirements. Standardized containerized desalination equipment has emerged as a vital development trend. Adopting mature reverse osmosis technology, our new containerized seawater desalination unit is officially available, delivering factory-integrated, rapidly deployable water supply solutions to meet freshwater demands in scattered scenarios and align with high-quality development of the seawater desalination sector.

Different from traditional on-site construction, this unit integrates pretreatment, RO membrane racks, energy recovery devices, online monitoring and electrical control systems inside a standard shipping container. Fully tested and commissioned before delivery, it can be transported by sea or land. On-site installation only requires water intake and power connection, cutting civil work and commissioning time drastically. Multiple units can be paralleled for flexible capacity expansion, making it ideal for islands, offshore platforms, coastal construction sites and emergency water supply.

Equipped with domestic anti-fouling RO membranes and high-efficiency energy recovery modules, the product optimizes energy consumption and operational costs. The built-in intelligent monitoring system tracks water quality, pressure and flow in real time with automatic fault alerts to simplify maintenance. Rational brine discharge design is adopted to comply with environmental standards and follow the industry’s low-carbon transition roadmap.

The industry is shifting toward a dual development model combining large municipal plants and modular packaged units. With mobility, fast delivery and standardized performance, containerized desalination systems are gaining wider adoption for island domestic water, offshore industrial supply and emergency backup. It is also one of the core export products for Chinese desalination equipment.

This new unit expands the domestic portfolio of modular desalination systems. It serves water security needs for coastal and remote island users at home, meanwhile providing one-stop freshwater solutions for overseas mining, island infrastructure and marine engineering projects. Future upgrades will integrate green power coupling and remote O&M functions to further improve economic efficiency and environmental adaptability. The product helps realize efficient utilization of marine water resources and strengthens resilience of regional water supply systems.
